Criterion and EA have announced that some free DLC will be coming the way of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit owners, if one million hits on a youtube video can be achieved.
“The dev team has put together a pack of 3 supercar convertibles – the Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible, the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster , and the Dodge Viper SRT10 Convertible Final Edition,” the post at the Hot Pursuit site reads. “If we can get the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit launch trailer to 1 million views by December 12th, these three amazing rides will be our little holiday gift to all of you playing Hot Pursuit.”
That sounds pretty simple, if a little dubious in terms of cynical hit-boosting.
If you’re reading this and thinking ‘great, I can’t wait for some free virtual cars!’ then you should go ahead and click that launch trailer all day. If, however, you feel slightly grubby being asked by an international publisher and developer of videogames to boost hits on a video in return for make-believe trinkets, stay away.
