MySpace will venture into the gaming industry according to the parent company News Corp’s digital head, Jonathan Miller.Reuters report that while speaking at the Fortune Brainstorm: TECH conference, Miller said he wants MySpace to become a gaming platform.”MySpace is and will be more in the future a gaming platform, a space for people to meet and play games.”News Corp who own Fox Studios might be looking at the potential of new movies with the popularity of films based on games (Gears of War and Dead Space) growing in recent years.”None of the traditional media conglomerates are also significant video game players, so to speak, and I think that that’s the missing piece of the equation, particularly when you see how much time is spent playing games online.”This all comes after recent comments by News Corp cheif executive Rupert Murdoch who said MySpace should transform into an “entertainment portal”.Miller added, “If you look at the big activities online, games right now is number three…So it’s clearly going to be a major focus.”So would you be interested in MySpace as a gaming platform?
