No Unreal Tournament For “Several Years”

Epic Games’ CEO Tim Sweeney has confirmed Unreal Tournament will not have another major retail release for “several years”.In a recent interview with G4TV, Sweeney confirmed that we won’t be seeing another Unreal Tournament title in shops anytime soon.”Unreal Tournament is certainly a major long-term priority but we’re planning not to release a major retail game in the series for several years.  So we have that effort somewhat on hold while we work on a few other initiatives,” he said.Could we be perhaps see a XBLA or PSN release of a past title? With EA DICE’s recent success with Battlefield 1943, we’re not ruling anything out.Let us know whether you would be interested in a remake of Unreal Tournament for LIVE in our comments section.
