Overwatch Beta today – Accounts flagged in waves

Overwatch

It’s a big day for Blizzard because today is the day they finally launch the beta for their new FPS Overwatch.

The beta will be launching in Europe and the US but no exact time has been set by Blizzard. A Tweet this afternoon simply reads:

“There isn’t an exact time the Overwatch beta will launch today, but we’ll update our official channels once it’s live—so stay tuned!”

It could be a long wait for testers because they will be “flagging accounts in waves” which they say could take “several hours*. Blizzard also stress that actual beta “keys” do not exist and that gamers eager to get testing should ignore all offers of keys in emails or on websites. These offers and emails will be scams.

The best advice is to keep checking your Battle.Net account to see if you’ve been flagged to test. During the Heroes of the Storm alpha I hadn’t even noticed my account had been accepted and it had been active for a couple of weeks.
