PC Alan Wake will cost $30 USD, due 16 Feb

Remedy has set a date of 16 February for the release of the PC version of Alan Wake, and confirmed that (in the US at least) the game will cost $30 USD. The developers are also taking strides to endear themselves to the PC crowd by talking sensibly about changes to the Field of View (or FOV) and improved graphics.
Indeed, you can expect to play Alan Wake in “higher resolutions and higher fidelity than ever before” and fiddle around with FOV adjustments, plus the ability to ‘hide’ the HUD. Stereoscopic 3D will be supported too, as will multiple monitors for those who can afford such things. Mouse and keyboard will of course be supported, but you’ll still be able to play with a gamepad if you fancy. Finally, a “multithreaded engine” will help make the most of quad-core CPUs.
Mmm, delicious technical acronyms. It smells truly PC, doesn’t it?
We’ve already learned that the game won’t be using Games for Windows Live, which is another nice bonus. At the time, Remedy said Alan Wake would “be fully supporting the Steam platform” but with today’s news that they’ve signed up with EA’s Origin it seems likely the title will be available through that platform too.
[Update]: It will indeed be coming to “other” digital distribution platforms, but at a later date.
