World of Warplanes (3)

The one in the bottom right is totally me. And I wasn’t even shot.

World of Warplanes has finally – finally – launched. I’m not sure why I’m saying “finally” like it’s been delayed a billion times; as far as I know, it was only delayed the once. Anyway!

World of Warplanes is Wargaming’s free-to-play 15-on-15 air combat title. You pick a plane that falls roughly into one of three classes (swift fighter, heavy fighter, or ground attack), customise it, and go into battle against the dastardly other team.

You can have a look at some tutorial videos that explain some of the basic concepts, or just flit on over to the official site to sign up for combat. It’s free, after all.

Tim has been playing PC games for longer than he's willing to admit. He's written for a number of publications, but has been with PC Invasion - in all its various incarnations - for over a decade. When not writing about games, Tim can occasionally be found speedrunning terrible ones, making people angry in Dota 2, or playing something obscure and random. He's also weirdly proud of his status as (probably) the Isle of Man's only professional games journalist.
