Red Orchestra 2 Announced

1C Company and Tripwire Interactive have announced a PC sequel to Red Orchestra.Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad is focused on the Battle of Stalingrad and related operations from July 1942 to February 1943. The game features both Russian and German missions and promises more of the gritty realism that has attracted players to RO since its early days as an Unreal mod.The sequel will feature the classic RO Territory game mode as well as new game types including Firefight and Countdown.  Players can join the battle in the single player game as well as co-op and competitive multiplayer modes. Most interesting is the game’s new Hero system – with a persistent stat tracking and progression system in place, players will aspire to reach the rank of Hero gaining access to the best weapons and equipment. We’re quite fond of the strict realism in Red Orchestra and look forward to cocking the bolt-action rifles once more.Check out the game’s official website and forums here.
