Red Orchestra 2 calls comrades to arms on 30 August

FPS players of the world, unite; you have nothing to lose but your killstreaks. Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad now has a release date.
As is somewhat given away by the headline to this article, that date is 30 August when the game will be released for the PC on Steam, other digital outlets and in those strange, smelly places called ‘shops’.
Red Orchestra 2 says it will “redefine the WWII shooter”, which is something that, let’s face it, is desparately needed. There’ll be first person cover, tank battles, a multiplayer campaign and “unrivaled weaponry”. The single player mode will let you play through the story as either the beseiged Commies or frostbitten Nazis.
In addition, the title is going nicely old-school with its servers. Both ranked and unranked dedicated server support will be provided, in conjunction with Punkbuster and Valve Anti-Cheat systems. You’ll get full SDK (Software Development Kit) support out of the box (so lots of scope for mods) and the game will be LAN friendly too.
Basically, if you fancy tweaking something about the game, you’ll most likely be able to. Hooray.
