Rocksmith 2014 adds Green Day songs for some inexplicable reason

Rocksmith 2014 - 05

Ubisoft, in their infinite wisdom, have decided that the one thing Rocksmith 2014 really needs is Green Day. At least, I’m assuming that’s why they’ve added three Green Day songs to the game as DLC.

Those songs are Oh Love, American Idiot, and Basketcase, available for £2.39 each or for £6.49 in a song pack. Seems a bit pricey to me, but then Ubisoft would have to actually pay me to get me to add those songs to my collection. If you’re a Green Day fan, then maybe that’s a fair price! I wouldn’t know.

Ubisoft are also continuing their slightly bizarre focus on adding Japanese music to Rocksmith 2014, which is something I don’t actually mind nearly so much. Last week saw the addition of three Tomoyasu Hotei songs (including “that one from Kill Bill” and “that one from Ouendan“), while this week has three songs from B’z at the same pricing structure as the Green Day ones.

Warning: the below trailer contains Green Day music and may not be suitable for viewers of an aurally sensitive disposition.
