Characters like Sonic the Hedgehog are about to be introduced to Nvidia’s subscription service GeForce Now. Warner Bros. and Sega announced at this year’s GDC in San Francisco that they are bringing titles like Warhammer 40:000: Space Marine, LEGO Jurassic Park, Mad Max, four different titles from the Sonic franchise and others to Nvidia’s version of streaming service.
The nine titles in total will be available in the coming weeks and they will raise the total number of available games for streaming to 100. The pricing will still be the same ($7,99 a month) and those who sign-up for the first time will be able to enjoy the service for free during the first three months.
You have to imagine GeForce Now like Sony’s PlayStation Now. Nvidia is running their games on its cloud-based supercomputer and is streaming a video feed to you over the internet, while sending your control inputs up to the game. Nvidia wants to create their own Netflix-like game streaming service and they will obviously continue to negotiate with other companies and publishers in order to bring more popular games to their platform.
