Shock! Horror! SpyParty beta is popular

Espionage game see 5,000 sign-ups in just over 30 hours.
Yesterday we reported that indie game SpyParty is taking sign-ups for its open-beta. For $15 you get access to the beta for the remainder of the game’s development as well as receive a copy of the game once it’s finished.
Chris Hecker, the one-man team behind the project, has revealed a plethora of stats relating to the beta sign-ups. In 30.5 hours (from 10.30 PDT on 10/5 to 17.05 PDT on 11/5) 5,000 people have signed up, representing an update of 164 people per hour.
A quick calculation later tells us that that equates to $75,000 – not bad for just over a day.
Rather pointlessly (but interestingly, nontheless), Hecker has also published a breakdown of the email domains used in the sign-up process. By a country mile Gmail is the webmail domain of choice, with 3,216 of the 5,000 sign-ups coming from @gmail accounts. Hotmail.com and Yahoo.com are some way off in second and third with 522 and 273 sign-ups respectively.
