Rebellion have released a pretty trailer and a screenshot for their forthcoming Africa-based scope-’em-up Sniper Elite 3.

Sniper Elite 3 is set before Sniper Elite V2, and sees series protagonist Karl Fairburne sent to Africa in the earlier years of World War 2. This particular trailer, titled “Tobruk”, focuses on the bombardment of the Libyan city of Tobruk. Which I guess makes sense. I mean, if you’re going to call your trailer Tobruk, it’d just be weird if it was set in Belize.

It certainly looks lovely, and the trailer offers a quick glimpse of the gratifyingly horrible X-ray kill cam, which will apparently now detail muscle layers and circulatory systems. What the hell is Sniper Elite 4 going to map? Individual layers of skin?

Sniper Elite 3 is due out in 2014. Tobruk trailer below.
