SOE Job Cuts

Sony has laid-off 41 staff members in its Sony Online Entertainment division.
Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) named cost-efficiency as the reason behind the move.SOE is accountable for producing titles such as Free Realms and Everquest is one of the first departments to be hit with job losses.”In a move to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs, Sony Online Entertainment has eliminated 5% of its full-time workforce, equalling 41 people,” a spokesperson told IndustryGamers.Sony announced back in December 16,000 part-time and full-time jobs would be cut in a bid to save $1.1 billion USD a year for the company.
