Square Enix addresses Tomb Raider Definitive Edition’s 30 FPS Framerate

There have been a series of news and rumors that have muddled the question of Tomb Raider Definitive Edition’s framerate. While a Eurogamer interview broke news that it would be at 30 FPS, a rumor from RocketChainsaw, followed by a statement in a Twitch stream from Executive Producer Scot Amos that the game is 60 FPS on Playstation 4. Most recently, Videogamer received official word from Square Enix, insisting it will be 30 FPS on all platforms. Here’s the full statement:

Both platforms offer the same outstanding Tomb Raider experience. Delivering the core Tomb Raider gameplay at native 1080p and running at 30fps was always our primary goal given the type of experience Tomb Raider is and the exploration we want players to do. Anything beyond 30fps for this version is gravy.
