A fresh blog post over at the official Star Wars: The Old Republic site contains a few details about the smuggler class in the forthcoming MMO.
Smuggler is the choice of the swashbuckling dandy, and offers two advanced paths: Gunslinger and Scoundrel. The first is fairly self-explanatory, offering a route into becoming the fastest draw in the galaxy. In contrast, scoundrels will be relying far more on cunning and stealth to get by.
These galactic pirates will also have the chance to recruit a Wookiee buddy and will be crusing around in a Corellian XS Stock Light Freighter.
