StarCraft II Officially Slated for Q2

StarCraft II lead producer Chris Sigaty has revealed that the anticipated RTS sequel will be released in the first half of 2010.StarCraft: IncGamers report that Sigaty pre-empted the question in a recent podcast Q&A that Blizzard “were targeting three to five months for the beta” and the team is “really at a three month period of time for the beta at this point.” We’ll see the game by the beginning of the summer, as Blizzard is “targeting the first half of this year”.

This is then a definite confirmation that the game is not scheduled for a Q3 release.

This has been great news for most StarCraft fans, except for the mapmakers, who now likely won’t see the map editor before launch. Sigaty said the team is discussing “whether it’s even worth it putting out the map editor at that point.”
