A new trailer for the game, along with some fresh info, was released with the news; Stronghold Kingdoms will be a unique kind of game where players can fight, trade, farm and negotiate their way to success by using the game’s ‘strategy cards’ system. Every month, players will receive a number of these cards and each one has an impact on different elements of the game such as agriculture, warfare, trading and religion. If players find themselves short, they can purchase extra cards to further aid them in their struggles.

“Stronghold has been played by millions of gamers all over the world,” said Eric Ouellette, CEO of Firefly Studios, “but to create even more lords and ladies we decided from the outset that Stronghold Kingdoms would be free-to-play.”

Gamers can sign up for the open beta here, which kicks off later this year. See the trailer below.
