Telltale has released snippets and teasers from Tales from the Borderlands before this point, but today they’ve put out what is probably the first “proper” trailer from the game. As well as explaining where this Gearbox-Telltale collaborative project sits on the Borderlands timeline (after Borderlands 2), the video gives you a look at the two protagonists and some sense of where the plot is going.

Not too much sense, though, which makes a nice change for videogame trailers.

During the five episodes, you’ll be switching between Rhys “a Hyperion ‘suit’ with dreams of being the next Handsome Jack” (voiced by ever-present videogame voicer man Troy Baker) and Fiona “a Pandoran con artist looking to score her biggest ever swindle” (also voiced by Troy B .. okay, no, just kidding, Laura Bailey is doing this voice.)

Everybody’s favourite Brock Samson/live action Tick/David Puddy from Seinfeld, Patrick Warburton is in this too, playing Rhys’ boss Hugo Vasquez. The game also stars Chris Hardwick as Vaughn, Erin Yvette as Sasha, and Dameon Clarke as Handsome Jack.

Circumstances will throw Rhys and Fiona together on Pandora, in search of a fat stack of cash which they both feel is theirs. As usual, Telltale will be selling a Season Pass ($25.00) through their online store and other digital PC outlets. If Tales from the Borderlands goes anything like their other games, the money conscious player may be best advised to wait until about half-way through the ‘season,’ at which point the pass will probably be about half price.

The first episode, ‘Zero Sum’ is said to be coming “soon.”
