Team Fortress 2 Celebrates 119th Milestone

Valve is celebrating Team Fortress 2’s 119th update with statues, patch note histories, and medals for veteran players.If you played the game within the first three months of release, you’ll get a gold Grizzled Veteran medal. Those who picked it up between three months and a year of release are awarded the silver Soldier of Fortune medal, while newcomers – which is, admittedly, a relative term – who joined in the fun after a year of release get a bronze Weekend Warrior medal.Other than that, there’s a “fun fact” that the game’s cache size has grown from 2.45GB during the game’s beta on 20 September to a whopping 4.83GB as of yesterday, news of Heavy statues becoming available for pre-order on 3 May, and notes on the latest patch, which follow.Added new items to commemorate our 119th (or so) updateFixed several issues with the Source SDKScout’s “Retire the Runner” achievement updated to be “Kill a Scout while they are under the effect of Crit-a-Cola.”Added a 20% damage bonus to The BackburnerFixed the Flare Gun’s afterburn duration being lowered by the Flamethrower’s duration reductionFixed the teleporter exit using the wrong particle effectFixed HUD damage indicators not appearingFixed Teleporters not reverting to level 1 when their other side is destroyedFixed receiving damage not causing view-kicks on playersFixed Engineers & Spies being able to circumvent build restrictionsFixed Server Browser not saving filter settings properlyFixed a client crash in the targetID on clients running custom HUDsFinally, for those of you getting a bit teary-eyed and nostalgic, the Team Fortress 2 site also contains a complete timeline of updates and patchnotes. It’s a whopper.
