The Secret World Becomes A Little Less Secret

Funcom’s The Secret World is working its way towards completion in a steadily less secretive fashion. There’s even a new website for the game.
The Secret World’s big promise (secret societies aside) is the total freedom of progression with characters. In a video shown at the Game Developers Conference last week, developer Ragnar Tørnquist (of The Longest Journey and Dreamfall fame) claims the title will do away with levels and classes completely. That’s a rather exciting statement, and it remains to be seen whether Funcom can back it up.
Something you do need to choose for your character, however, is membership in one of the game’s three secret socities: Templar, Dragon or Illuminati. There’s even a handy test on the new site to help see who you might fit in best with.
The Secret World is still without a release date. To find out more about the game, have a read of an IncGamers interview with Tørnquist from last June.
