The Week That Was…

Our weekly round-up of the biggest news, reviews, previews, interviews and features of the past seven days.
News has been coming thick and fast this week, not least because we’ve gone rather quote happy; Relic claim that their upcoming Warhammer 40K: Space Marine is the first game to make you actually feel like a Space Marine, Bethesda say that they would ‘like to see’ Skyrim mods on consoles, Mr. Ed Boon says that Mortal Kombat can be tweaked without patches and, perhaps most revealing, ‘anonymous sources’ claim that Sony and Microsoft do not want to release new home consoles until 2014.
Elsewhere we’ve got chart news, new trailers, fresh delays, refusals to provide sales data and confirmation of a new Telltale project (which is always a good thing).

Portal 2 was undoubtedly the week’s most anticipated release, as such it brings us great pleasure to provide you with the definitive verdict. We’ve held off on reviews for Mortal Kombat and Section 8: Prejudice to enable us to retain our lofty standards and our refusal to publish reviews until the game has been played extensively. Expect them both early next week.
