THQ Nordic acquires Biomutant developer and takes a pop at EA

Boimutant, which is being created by former Avalanche (Just Cause, Mad Max) developers Experiment 101, has just been acquired by THQ Nordic. The publisher has acquired the studio and the game IP.

Biomutant is their upcoming open-world post-apocalyptic, RPG featuring hairy creatures which was announced back in August this year. More game details on Biomutant are expected next year.

When asked whether THQ Nordic was “doing an EA”, alluding to EA’s habit of acquiring studios then shutting them down, THQ responded with, “No we did not shut down a studio before it” and made sure @EA was mentioned for good measure. Ouch!
