Ubisoft shuts down Vancouver studio

Ubisoft Vancouver has been closed down, ending Ubisoft’s three year ownership of the studio.
In 2009 ubisoft bought the studio, then known as Action Pants, and rebranded them as Ubisoft Vancouver. The studio went on to develop the poorly received Pure Football for 360, PS3 and PC, Motionsports Adrenaline for 360 Kinect and PS Move as well as Academy of Champions: Soccer for the Wii.
Ubisoft’s official statement on the closure as follows:
“Unfortunately, we haven’t found the right formula for success for the talented team there. We thank our Vancouver team for their hard work and the projects that they have delivered.
“Team members will have the opportunity to consider positions in other Ubisoft studios and we will work with each of them to help find the best next step, whether it be within Ubisoft or outside.”
