If you’d forgotten that Hollywood was aiming to shoot a version of Sony’s Uncharted series, then you’re probably not alone. As often tends to happen with these projects, it seems as if the proposed film has recently undergone a pretty sizeable shake-up. If reports from the film industry are to be believed, director Neil Burger (Limitless) is no longer attached to the movie and the script will be undergoing a full re-write.
That in itself isn’t necessarily an automatic red flag (film scripts tend to have plenty of re-writes), but the duo who’ll now be working on Uncharted are Marianne and Cormac Wibberley. You may have experienced their past work on the National Treasure series, or Charlies Angels: Full Throttle.
It’s a mixed CV; but if you’re hoping for a scene in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune where Nathan Drake has to kidnap the US president and spend ages studying a wooden desk in the White House then you may be in luck. Plus, we can all hold out hope that Drake’s role will be filled by Nicolas Cage.
