Weak ticket sales prompt Call of Duty Expo freebies

Tickets for the “Call of Duty XP 2011” convention have apparently not been flying off the shelves, so Activision has sweetened the deal.
It’s been around two weeks since tickets went on sale and places at the event are limited to a few thousand, so it’s safe to say that people didn’t think the chance to eat at a real life Burger Town was quite worth $150 USD.
Today, it’s been announced that everyone attending the convention will receive a voucher for a free copy of the Modern Warfare 3 ‘hardened’ edition. That’s not a bad incentive, as it’s likely to retail at around $80 USD and tends to include a few in-game exclusives (as yet, we don’t know what the Modern Warfare 3 version will include).
In addition, Activision will be hosting a Microsoft-sponsored tournament with a top prize of $1 million USD (what’s with all the $1 million tournaments all of a sudden?) that’ll be most people’s first look at the Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer.
As if that were not enough, Arrested Development and Blades of Glory star Will Arnett will be there. He’ll be promoting a series he and fellow Arrested Development actor Jason Bateman are working on for the Call of Duty: Elite service. We are unable to confirm whether he will be manning a banana stand.
