Publisher Xseed Games will be bringing two of the Japanese RPG Ys series to Steam in the coming months. First up will be Ys: The Oath in Felghana, which was released on PC in Japan back in 2005 and translated into English for the PSP by Xseed back in 2010. It’ll be released on Steam on 19 March, priced at $15.00 USD.
Later (how much later is yet to be announced), Xseed will also release Ys Origin, a prequel to the original Ys title. The price for this release is also yet to be announced. Xseed states that it will mark the first time that Ys Origin has been translated into English. It was originally released in Japan for the PC in 2006.
“People have been asking for Falcom’s great catalog of PC games to be officially made available in English for a long time,” says President of Xseed Games Jun Iwasaki. “To start our new publishing arrangement on Steam with two standout entries from Falcom’s action-based Ys series … is an ideal situation for us, and we are excited about the future possibilities.”
Ys: The Oath in Felghana will feature Steam achievements and Steam Cloud support.
