Amongst the deluge of announcements and reveals during gamescom 2020 Opening Night Live, fans of the Warhammer franchise has one more thing to look forward to. The world premiere of Gasket Games’ Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground sees a turn-based entry based on, you guessed it, the Age of Sigmar. Apparently, it is supposedly the first strategy title based on that age, even though we already had Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions and Warhammer Underworlds: Online, but who are we to argue with the Warhammer gods?
That said, at least we are moving to somewhat uncharted territory here with Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground. While most titles in the expansive library of Warhammer games tend to veer towards the Old World, this new entry will go somewhere fresher.
Players will be leading a group of warriors, each customizable to your creativity, and based off their respective factions. Of course, you can expect to be gearing them up with different equipment as well as skills. Killing your enemies is hard work, especially if you are looking at Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground‘s non-linear campaign. You can experience the 1v1 turn-based fights on your own, or play online.
Conquer the Mortal Realms
The more you win, the larger your collection will be. To the victors goes new types of units, powerful equipment, and even more devastating skills. Each new playthrough will see new challenges, and new rewards as well. At the end of the day, it will be up to you how you want to build your legendary army in Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground will arrive sometime in 2021. If you are itching for more, there is even a real-time strategy title on the horizon. We are truly living in a world that is seemingly insatiable for Warhammer games.
