Activision vs. EA lawsuit approved

Activision has been given the all clear on three of the four legal claims it has filed against EA. Up to $400 million is at stake regarding the actions of former Infinity Ward employee’s Vince Zampella and Jason West.
According to Bloomberg, the California Superior Court has ruled that Activision have provided suitable evidence for the case to be heard, the trial is due to begin this May.
The spate revolves around the fact that Activision believe EA assisted West and Zampella in breaching their contract with Activision and that, in return, EA were provided with confidential information.
These claims from Activision originally came about as a counter claim to West and Zampella own court case against the publisher, in which they claimed they were sacked solely so that Activision didn’t have to pay them royalties from money made on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
Activision, in this latest claim, believe that “Electronic Arts conspired with two former senior Activision executives [West and Zampella] to derail Activision’s Call of Duty franchise, disrupt its Infinity Ward development studio, and inflict serious harm on the company.”
West and Zampella have since established new development studio Respawn Entertainment, with the help of EA Partners.
