DICE & EA Cancel Two PC Projects

DICE general manager Karl Troedsson has confirmed that the PC versions of Battlefield 1943 and Bad Company 2: Onslaught have been cancelled.
Back in July of last year EA began offering refunds to those who had pre-purchased Battlefield 1943, which wasn’t a great sign for the title. Waiting appeared to have paid off in September 2010 when the game appeared in EA’s online store for purchase and download. Sadly, this was quickly revealed to have been an error on the part of the publisher.
Writing on EA’s official forum, Troedsson stated “We know some of you eagerly have been awaiting Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Onslaught on PC. I’m sad to say that these two titles are now officially cancelled.”
Bad Company 2: Onslaught was also falsely reported to be coming to the PC, but this was in serious doubt even back in July 2010.
DICE insists it is still sticking by the PC as a platform, claiming “our talented teams will focus on delivering the greatest possible gaming experience in our next behemoth release [Battlefield 3].” It remains to be seen whether this will be the case.
