SEGA reports annual net profit of $514 million USD

Some positive financial results for SEGA, whose parent company Sega Sammy Holdings reports an annual net profit of 41.5 billion yen ($514.0 million USD).
This represents a rather impressive net profit increase of 104.8 percent on the financial results of 2009-2010, when SEGA reported a profit of 20.3 billion yen ($251 million). This huge increase is a result of strong sales and royalties from patents.
Sonic Colors led the way in game sales, shifting 2.2 million copies on the Wii and DS. Surprisingly (and sadly, given the quality of the title), this was followed by Iron Man 2 which sold 1.5 million. Vanquish and Shogun 2: Total War made a decent contribution too, selling 830,000 and 600,000 copies respectively.
However, amidst all the good news and sacks of gold, SEGA warned of more troubling times ahead for the Japanese economy as a whole and cited “growing concern for the Japanese economic recovery losing its momentum.”
