Mike Kulas, the founder and president of Volition, will leave the company next Monday after eighteen years with the developer.
During that time, Kulas has overseen the FreeSpace, Red Faction and Saints Row series’ and he told the News-Gazette that the decision is entirely his own. With Red Faction: Armageddon awaiting release and Saints Row: The Third described as being on “the home stretch” Kulas feels the timing is appropriate.
He will be succeeded by Dan Cermak, who has reportedly been Volition’s vice president of product development since 2003.
In related news, Red Faction: Armageddon has had its US release date pushed back to 7 June from 31 May.
