Alan Wake PC Petition Hits 14,000 Signatures

A petition for a PC version of Alan Wake has taken off in a big way.Since its inception, the petition has amassed over 14,000 signatures, with the total at time of writing standing at 14,366.Psychological horror-shooter Alan Wake was initially announced for a multiplatform launch on PC and 360, but the PC version was temporarily shelved in mid-2009 so that developer Remedy could focus on the Xbox 360 version. Recently, however, Remedy revealed that there are no plans to restart development on the PC version.Considering that it’s been assumed since the game’s announcement in 2005 that there would be a version of both systems, it’s understandable that the recent announcement that Alan Wake would not be coming to PC has created this large a response.Whether or not the petition will have any impact on Microsoft and Remedy’s decision to ditch the PC version remains to be seen, but it can’t hurt. Check it out for yourself here. We’ll hopefully have more on Alan Wake – summed up by Microsoft’s Robbie Bach as akin to “the TV show Lost, as written by Stephen King, and filmed by David Lynch” – for you in the coming weeks.
