Aliens: Colonial Marines trailer and dated

Hot off the press from SEGA is a new trailer for Gearbox’ Aliens inspired FPS as well as a tentative release date.
Just in time for E3, SEGA and Gearbox have revealed that the game will be hitting the shops some time in spring 2012 for the PS3, 360 and PC. You pretty much know what to expect with this one, lots of running around blasting the crap out of Aliens.
Predictably the game will start on an abandoned ship, the U.S.S. Sulaco, which is orbiting LV-42. Players will join the United States Colonial Marines as they investigate what happened on the abandoned ship. Familiar?

The game is said to feature authentic environments, such as the surface of LV-426 and Hadley’s Hope and include weapons inspired by the film series.
“To Gearbox Software and its peers throughout the industry, ALIENS is one of the most influential science fiction properties of all time,” said Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software. “Aliens: Colonial Marines, designed as an interactive successor to the landmark films from Twentieth Century Fox, is a dream project about which our studio is deeply committed and passionate.”
So there you go. Another Aliens title that on the surface doesn’t sound like it will offer anything new but we’ll have to wait and see.
