There is one main reason why getting all of the test answers correct is important. Doing so rewards free Knowledge points that advance that Social Stat. Knowledge affects how well you perform in exams and is required to progress specific Confidants such as Makoto. Performing especially well in Exams will also increase your Charm.
A useful tip for figuring out classroom answers in Persona 5 Royal is to take advantage of the Thieves Guild. While connected to the network, you can view what other players chose to do at each specific time. This includes classroom answers where the answer with the highest percentage is always the correct answer. You can view this by ALT and then G or pressing BACK and then the D-pad on a controller.
