Game director for Age of Conan, Craig Morrison, has spoken about the next major content update for the game, and what it will contain.
Morrison, speaking in the latest game director’s letter, revealed that Update 6 will contain many new gameplay features for guilds, such as the ability to acquire renown points through several actions carried out by the members of the guild. Sieges between guilds will earn renown, and so will other actions such as crafting and questing, even killing monsters. Guilds will be ranked, and these rankings will be visible to other players. Guilds will be strongly encouraged to recruit, as more members will make the guild more efficient in competing for renown. Funcom are hoping this will add more competition between guilds, getting players even more involved in guild gameplay.
Morrison also spoke veteran rewards, and that they were on their way at last.
“As part of the next major update cycle, a new veteran reward system will be introduced that gives veteran players access to special vendors who will offer them a host of veteran benefits ranging from social status items to special items that will provide extra convenience items to veteran players.”
