Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Event skins guide

Collect all the cosmetics… for science.
Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Wattson Caustic Nerf

Respawn Entertainment recently wrapped up the Second Anniversary Event for Apex Legends, but don’t stop to take a breather, because the next event is already live in-game. The Chaos Theory Collection Event is centered around Caustic (even more reason not to take a breather) and includes a Town Takeover, an experimental mode, and of course,  a bunch of cosmetics to collect. To make sure you don’t miss a single skin, we’ve put together this comprehensive guide for the Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Event.

The event coincides with the latest Apex Legends patch, which hits Caustic and the Mastiff with big nerfs. You can check out all the changes to the Legends and weapons in our previous article on the patch.

Get free skins in the Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Event

Just logging into Apex Legends during the Chaos Theory Collection Event will score you a free music pack, no guide needed for that one. However, you will need to put in some work to unlock all the free cosmetics on the event’s reward track. There are 14 cosmetics to earn on the track, with the highlights being a Legendary Kraber skin and Legendary EVA-8 skin.

There are also four Epic Weapon Charms, two bundles of Stat Trackers, and a nice-looking Rare skin for Horizon. You need to earn a total of 5,000 points to unlock all 14 items. You earn points by completing the event’s daily challenges. For day one, there are three challenges, which will earn you 200 points each. So, presuming every day offers the same number of points, it will take you just over eight days to unlock all the skins if you complete all the challenges every day.

The Chaos Theory Collection Event runs until March 23. So, there’s no need to rush. You have plenty of time to earn all the free cosmetics in the rewards track. On top of the cosmetics available on the track, there are also four account badges you can earn. These might be a bit tougher, so I suggest you actively pursue these from day one.

Two of the badges can be unlocked in any game mode. All you need to do is deal 10,000 damage and down 100 enemies during the event. To unlock the Gambler badge, you will need to play the experimental mode and use the new item, the Heat Shield, to prevent 5,000 damage. To earn the final badge, you simply need to earn the previous three. The most efficient way to unlock them all is to hop into the Ring Fury game mode.

Cold Steel on a hot day

You don’t really need a guide for the Apex Legends purchasable skins from the Chaos Theory Collection Event, but you will need a credit card. There are 24 cosmetics available and, if you purchase them all, you’ll also get the new Cold Steel Heirloom for Bangalore. Unfortunately for players who don’t like to drop cash on cosmetics, there are no earnable packs like we had in the anniversary event.

Apex Legends Chaos Theory Collection Event Legend Skins

There are some bundle offers to help ease the monetary blow. However, they’re priced from 2,500 Apex Coins and up. If you’re going to purchase cosmetics, the Pathfinder and Revenant bundles are definitely the way to go. You will get the skin for the relevant character for a fraction of the price it would cost you if you purchased it individually.

The Caustic Deputy of Death bundle is also one to consider. It has an awesome skin for the Wingman that I haven’t seen anywhere else. If you’re into exclusives, that’s certainly one.
