Today Trion revealed that their next MMO Archeage, which is created by XLGAMES, will begin testing very soon.

This MMO is the one created by Jake Song of Lineage fame promising a “vast MMO adventure” in what they are dubbing an MMO sandbox. In other words it’s free from “pre-defined paths and progression.”

The closed beta for ArcheAge will kick off on 17 July and guaranteed access is available by unsurprisingly purchasing one of the Founder’s Packs.

The closed beta runs from Thursday, July 17 (10:00 AM PDT) to Monday, July 21 (10:00 AM PDT) and will have a level cap of 50. In other words to reach the cap you’ll probably need to be playing this 24/7 for the few days it’s actually open.

£36.99 for four days of confirmed beta access is a little steep unless you know you’ll definitely be playing this once it’s launched. It is an MMO so no doubt everyone will rave about it for a few days then realise it’s quite similar to other MMOs. Still, it is a sandbox so it may just offer something a little different with its naval warfare.

Here’s the nice looking trailer to entice you.
