While at Arkane he has overseen development on numerous titles in the “immersive sim” tradition started by Looking Glass Studios, including Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic and Dishonored. His most recent role was creative director on Prey. In a message published through the Bethesda site, Colantonio says “it is time for me to step out to spend some time with my son and reflect on what is important to me and my future.”

He continues, “I wish the best to everyone at Arkane, Bethesda, and ZeniMax. Without a doubt I will miss everyone.” Colantonio says he will stay around “as long as necessary” for a transition to take place in Arkane’s Lyon office. Meanwhile, Harvey Smith will oversee the team in Austin.
