One of the first things that came to mind when I heard that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag would also be coming to the next generation of consoles was what can they do that the current generation of consoles cannot? Obviously the next-gen versions will be aesthetically superior but would they also be host to additional features that the current generation isn’t capable of?
Well recently creative director Jean Guesdon gave us a bit of insight in a Q&A and it seems we certainly can expect to see more than just a graphical difference.
Guesdon said:
“In addition to improved graphics and physic, Next Gen versions will bring to the players new connected features allowing them to feel that even if they remain ‘Single Player’ it will be better to be a ‘Single Connected Player’,”
“I mean, that Next Gen Consoles will allow players to have a solo experience that benefit the presence of a huge community.”
Guesdon didn’t really give any info on how exactly it may play into the game, but the idea of your single player progress changing the overall game that we collectively play could certainly have some interesting outcomes. We will have to wait and see just how this all comes together when more details are released
