Assassin’s Creed Unity and Far Cry 4 pre-orders open on Steam

Far Cry 4 - 04

“My game costs HOW MUCH in the UK?”

Assassin’s Creed Unity and Far Cry 4 pre-orders have opened on Steam, and once again, the UK is getting completely shafted on pricing.

If you want to pre-order Unity or Far Cry 4 on Steam, then you can do so in America (according to our US-based writer-type Peter Parrish) for $60 USD, which works out to around £35. Not bad! On the other hand, if you want to pre-order either of them in the UK, it’ll cost you £49.99… which is about $85 USD. Hooray for global markets!

If you fancy paying more than £49.99, you can also opt for the Gold editions of both games, for £64.99. And that’s at a discount from the £69.99 standard price! The Gold edition of Assassin’s Creed Unity offers the Season Pass, the Chemical Revolution mission, the Royal Arsenal pack, the Athos Duel Shirt, the Black Musketeer Breeches, and the Pappenheimer Rapier. Although, uh… you apparently get all of that, barring the Season Pass, when you pre-order the game anyway.

Meanwhile, Far Cry 4‘s Gold Edition gives you the Limited Edition of the game, and the Season Pass. Pre-ordering also nets you the Hurk’s Redemption missions, which give you three extra mission and a harpoon gun. But for £49.99? Hmm.

Assassin’s Creed Unity is due out on 28 October, with Far Cry 4 due out a little later on 18 November.
