Ubisoft just can’t stop releasing trailers for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the obligatory launch trailer has now arrived. If you haven’t decided whether you want to explore Viking England just yet, Ubisoft is throwing one last ad your way. In truth, it’s a pretty good sell.
The trailer gives us one last look at the game’s vast landscapes as the launch comes around. This clip shows off a good amount of both Viking-era England and the game’s Scandinavian locations, which provide a nice change of scenery in Valhalla. Eivor may have arrived on England’s shores, but is still set out to capture the whole Kingdom.
To do that, you’ll have to hack and slash away at many Saxon enemies. Valhalla is decidedly more gruesome than recent Assassin’s Creed entries, and the launch trailer definitely showcases that. You’ll spend much of your time in England fighting, raiding and plundering small towns and villages, in a game set in a brutal time period. You’re also asked to claim your place in Valhalla, which will certainly take lots of dismemberment to accomplish.
A warm reception
The Assassin’s Creed Valhalla launch trailer also displays some critic’s opinions. As the clip is directly from Ubisoft it of course showcases broadly positive reviews, but it turns out Valhalla is pretty damn good. We enjoyed our time with it leading up to launch, which we detailed in our extensive review.
While we noted problems with the main narrative’s flow and mission structure, Valhalla has a lot to offer. There’s multiple huge maps to explore across England, Norway and other surprise locations, and the whole experience is something to behold. It’s as much about the side dishes as the main course in Valhalla, and Ubisoft has delivered quite the Viking banquet.
