Asterigos: Curse of the Stars – Guardian Colossus and Twin Colossi boss guide (Phalan Academy)

Once you get past the armory section in Asterigos: Curse of the Stars‘ Phalan Academy level, a short cutscene will play. The guards will bar the opposite end of the bridge, an elite centurion will appear, and an arcane device will begin to power up.

This fight against the centurion is but a prelude. Be careful when engaging it, and do avoid the beams from the cannon. Ideally, you’ll want to defeat this enemy without taking too much damage or using a lot of flasks.

After eliminating the centurion, make sure you save your game. When you’re ready, approach the other side of the bridge. Another cutscene plays and, this time, the Guardian Colossus awakens. Its attack animations are fairly slow, so you can dodge and smack it around with ease.

However, once you drop it below 80% HP, its buddy jumps down from its plinth. Now, you’ll battle the Twin Colossi boss in Asterigos: Curse of the Stars.

Here’s what you’ll need to be aware of:

  • Lightning Strikes – One target will usually kneel and cause electricity to cascade along the ground. The other, meanwhile, has elementally-infused attacks. Again, these are fairly easy to avoid. In fact, you might want to lure them close to each other so your skills (i.e., Blade Dance) can hit both at the same time.
  • Overload – This ability, though, will lead to instant death if you’re not careful. Every now and then, both living statues will jump to their respective sides of the bridge. After a few seconds, an explosion will rock the arena, likely killing you.

The only way to negate the Overload damage is by running toward the opponent that has a golden force field. Stand within the aura and continue wailing away at it. You should get a lot of free hits as Overload is being cast. Eventually, you’ll clear the Twin Colossi boss fight in Asterigos: Curse of the Stars.
