Atari Not Attending E3

Atari has pulled out of E3, three weeks before the event is due to begin.Joystiq have the scoop, reporting that the official line is that this is a “proactive decision to attend but not exhibit at this year’s E3 event,” and that the company is focused on “other selling and marketing initiatives.”The ESA, which runs E3, appears to still be showing Atari as an exhibitor, and according to Joystiq is referring all inquires regarding this to Atari – who are only confirming that they’re not attending the show and do not have other LA press events planned during the E3 time period. So no Ghostbusters and Champions Online at E3, then. We’ll report more on this as soon as we can.
