Developer and publisher Neowiz has confirmed that Alliance of Valiant Arms, better known as AVA Online, will be making its return to Steam soon. Set for a March 31 release, the classic free-to-play first-person shooter dates back to 2007. Although it is most popular in Korea, AVA Online does have an established fanbase in the West, too.
Back in 2018 Alliance of Valiant Arms was taken offline by its former publisher En Masse Entertainment. An exact reason for AVA’s closure was not given, but it was likely a financially motivated decision given En Masse Entertainment’s collapse less than two years later. But come March, fans of AVA Online will finally be able to once again play it.
The return of AVA Online
Despite its closure in the West, AVA Online continued to operate in both Korea and Japan. But now Neowiz is ready to place the game back on the global stage. Project manager David Kim assures his team has heard the requests for AVA‘s return “load and clear.”
The return of AVA Online to Steam will bring with it six classic game modes: Annihilation, Demolition, Escort, AI Mission, Domination, and Escape. Equally, you’ll once again be able to pick to side with either the EU or NRF factions. Both sides will have three classes to pick from that affect how you interact with matches.
Furthermore, Kim isn’t just planning on bringing back the same old game fans last played. Neowiz has used this opportunity to introduce new features and enhancements that could take AVA to the next level. Further news on these developments will follow later this spring.
As for AVA Online‘s upcoming Steam release, it’s already available on Steam Wishlist. If you are interested in the future of AVA, adding it to your Wishlist is a great way to stay updated. You’ll be notified of when it’s released and of any major updates post from Neowiz itself.
