Battlefield 3 beta dated

29 September, mark it in your diary.
In a cheeky press release in which EA “invites players to go above the call”, it has been confirmed the the Battlefield 3 open multiplayer beta will kick off on 29 September – less than a month before the game’s 28 October release date.
The beta will feature one map entitled ‘Operation Metro’ which is set in Paris and will allow two team to battle it out in the same Rush Mode that features in that Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Battlefield 3’s multiplayer in full consists of five game modes across nine maps.
Pleasingly, the beta is open to players playing on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and/or PC.
