Note: If you have yet to beat Grym and turn on the Adamantine Forge, let our comprehensive guide be your guide.

Every BG3 Adamantine Forge item – Tier list

There are six Moulds, which means there are six items you can create with the Adamantine Forge. While all six items are good, there are a few that are much better than the others. In this guide, I’ll rank the best Adamantine Forge weapons and armor through a tier list.

While you can make six items at the Adamantine Forge, there are only two Mithral in all of Baldur’s Gate 3, both of which are found in Grymforge. I recommend you use our guide to easily find the two Mithral, but you’ll need this guide to help you know what the best Mould is to use in the Adamantine Forge since you only get to create two items.

Note: The six Moulds are found throughout Grymforge. I found all six Moulds as I made my way over to the Ancient Forge, but if you need more guidance, feel free to look up the exact locations of each Mould.

For a quick answer, here are the best Adamantine Forge items in Baldur’s Gate 3:

  1. Adamantine Splint Armor
  2. Adamantine Scale Mail
  3. Adamantine Shield
  4. Adamantine Longsword
  5. Adamantine Scimitar
  6. Adamantine Mace

S-tier Adamantine Forge items in BG3

  • Adamantine Splint Armor
  • Adamantine Scale Mail

The two Adamantine armor you can make are the best Adamantine Forge items in Baldur’s Gate 3. If you’re proficient with heavy armor, I recommend the Adamantine Splint Armor, and if you’re proficient or prefer medium armor, go with the Adamantine Scale Mail. These armors are some of the best early items in the game.

Adamantine Splint Armor has 18 AC, Magical Plate, Intense Adamantine Backlash, a disadvantage on stealth checks, and attackers can’t land critical hits. Adamantine Scale Mail has the same thing, but it has 16 AC, slightly less effective Magical Plate and Intense Adamantine Backlash, and can get an AC bonus from Dexterity limited to plus two.

Magical Plate reduces all incoming damage by two for the heavy armor and one for the medium armor. Intense Adamantine Backlash sends anyone who hits you with a melee attack Reeling, which gives them a minus one to attack rolls, for two turns for the medium armor and three turns for the heavy armor.

A-tier Adamantine Forge items in BG3

  • Adamantine Shield

The Adamantine Shield is amazing, especially if you are proficient with shields. You get a plus two to AC and when melee attacks miss you, you send the attacker Reeling for two turns. You get the Shield Bash ability which allows you to use a reaction when you are hit with a melee attack to knock the attacker prone unless they succeed a Dexterity Saving Throw. You’ll also be immune to critical hits.

B-tier Adamantine Forge items in BG3

  • Adamantine Longsword

If you want a melee weapon, the Adamantine Longsword is the best option. It has 1D8+1 slashing damage as a one-handed weapon and 1D10+1 as a two-handed weapon. It has the Pommel Strike, Lacerate, and Rush Attack actions and has Diamondsbane which means whenever you hit an object, it’s always a critical hit. Lethal Weapon allows the Adamantine Longsword to ignore resistance to slashing damage.

C-tier Adamantine Forge items in BG3

  • Adamantine Scimitar
  • Adamantine Mace

The worst items you can forge in the Adamantine Forge are the Adamantine Scimitar and Adamantine Mace simply because they aren’t as strong and useful as the other items.

The Adamantine Scimitar has 1D6+1 slashing damage, Diamondsbane, Lethal Weapon, Flourish, and Lacerate. The Adamantine Mace has 1D6+1 bludgeoning damage, Diamondsbane, Lethal Weapon for bludgeoning resistance, and Concussive Smash.
