Beta batterings: PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale gets public beta this autumn

Recommended Videos

Sony has announced that the entire “PlayStation nation” (are they at the Olympics?) will ultimately get the chance to try out PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale in beta form by the autumn. Right now, a select handful of players have access to the game in order to test out connection issues and the like, but this player-base is set to expand over the coming weeks.

PlayStation Plus subscribers will be given priority (naturally), but the company states it will “continue to send out batches of codes as we gradually expand the beta”. If you wait long enough, you’ll probably get a chance to sample the delights of roughing up other PlayStation characters with either Kratos, Sweet Tooth, PaRappa the Rapper, Colonel Radec, Sly Cooper, Fat Princess or the rest.

Speaking of the rest of the roster, Sony has also let slip that a new character will be announced during GamesCom later this month.
