Take-Two has released a few details on what we can expect from BioShock 2’s multiplayer. The multiplayer mode is set during the fall of Rapture, with players taking the role of a Rapture citizen working as a Plasmid test subject for Sinclair Solutions, which means that the levels have been redesigned to showcase Rapture as it was during the height of its glory, including Kashmir Restaurant and Mercury Suites. The main thrust appears to be that experience points will be earned that will grant access to various weapons, tonics, and plasmids, “allowing players to develop a unique character that caters to their playing style.”And it’s being handled by Digital Extremes, who seem pretty good at this sort of thing following work on the Unreal Tournament franchise.BioShock 2 is due out at some point in the future for Xbox 360, PC, and PS3.
