Reakktor Media’s Simon Bachmann has revealed that there are plans for a ‘station walking’ feature in the upcoming sci-fi MMO, Black Prophecy.
While speaking to VE, Bachmann spoke about the feature which should be appearing sometime after the release of the game. Station walking, the ability for a player’s character to actually leave their ship and explore a space station, is something that players of the popular MMO, EVE, have been requesting for a while.
“Next to your ship you will also have a fully customizable 3D avatar of your pilot which will appear in conversations with NPCs or other players. This special avatar will become more important in the so called “Station walking” feature which we plan to implement in one of the future game updates post release.”
He also revealed that the business model for the game is likely to be free to play rather than subscription.
“…with regards to the development on the games market it looks very much like a move away from the classic monthly subscription to a more flexible and user-friendlier model.”
Black Prophecy is currently in the closed beta stage. The official website was launched recently, and you can check out screenshots from the game in our gallery. Don’t forget to see the game-play trailer too for some in-game footage of this visually impressive game, and check back for an interview with the developers soon.
