Following the leak that revealed a release date and open beta data for Overwatch, Blizzard has now confirmed these dates as final.

An open beta will take place from 5-9 May. There’s a pre-purchase pre-order bonus where if the game is pre-ordered there’s early access to the beta for you and friend between 3-4 May. This offer is only available until 29 April.

Overwatch is a team shooter for everyone, with deep, cooperative gameplay, fast and fun competitive action, and a diverse range of larger-than-life heroes,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We think PC and console players everywhere will have a great time in the game, and we’re excited to give everyone a chance to try Overwatch out for themselves ahead of its May 24 launch.”

An FAQ is now up on the site covering the beta and Blizzard has also confirmed the release date as 24 May.
